Woman rescued alive after Odyssey of the Seas overboard incident
Greek authorities said the 44-year-old was recovered after spending nearly 20 hours in the Mediterranean Sea.

A 44-year-old woman from El Salvador was found alive early October 10, 2026, after going missing from Royal Caribbean’s Odyssey of the Seas on Friday morning, according to accounts citing Greek authorities.
The Hellenic Coast Guard said a cargo ship involved in the search spotted a flashing light attached to the woman’s lifebelt. A Coast Guard rescue vessel then reached her and brought her aboard. She was conscious and received first aid on the vessel.
Authorities said the woman was taken through the western Peloponnese port of Katakolo to a hospital in Pyrgos for medical observation and testing. Passengers aboard the cruise ship indicated that she was being treated for hypothermia and was otherwise in stable condition.
The search involved two Coast Guard vessels, an Air Force helicopter, nearby merchant ships and Odyssey of the Seas, which changed course to participate. Following the operation, the cruise ship canceled its scheduled call at Naples and continued toward Civitavecchia.
