Croozie (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates croozie.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. Your password is stored in hashed form and is never accessible in plain text.

Google Sign-In

If you sign in with Google, Google provides your name, email address, profile image, email-verification status, and a unique Google account identifier. We use this information only to create or link your Croozie account, authenticate you, maintain your session, and display your account profile. We do not request access to your Google contacts, files, calendar, or email.

Favorites & Preferences

We store the sailings you favorite and any roommate matching preferences you set (such as age range, gender, and sailing interests). This data is used solely to power the features you opted into.

Usage Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure aggregate page views, visits, referrers, and website performance. It does not use analytics cookies, identify you or your account, or track you across different websites.

Session Data

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. This cookie is essential to the operation of the Service and is not used for tracking or advertising.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Authenticate your identity and maintain your session
  • Display your saved favorites and match preferences
  • Connect you with potential roommates on shared sailings
  • Understand how the Service is used so we can improve it

4. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect or process:

  • Location data
  • Advertising identifiers or tracking pixels

5. Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your information may be shared only in the following circumstances:

  • Roommate matching: If you opt into roommate matching, limited profile information (name and matching preferences) may be visible to other users who are matched with you on the same sailing.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted in a secure environment. We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and hashed passwords. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information and associated data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Opt out of roommate matching at any time
