Woman rescued after going overboard from Odyssey of the Seas
A cargo ship found the passenger conscious in a lifebuoy during a search in the Ionian Sea, according to the Hellenic Coast Guard.

A 44-year-old woman from El Salvador was rescued after falling from Royal Caribbean International’s Odyssey of the Seas about 83 miles southwest of the Greek island of Zakynthos, the Hellenic Coast Guard said. The incident occurred Friday, October 9.
The Coast Guard launched a search involving rescue boats, passing vessels and a Greek Air Force helicopter. During the early hours of Saturday, October 10, the crew of the Madeira-flagged cargo ship MSC Rossella III spotted a flashing light attached to a lifebuoy and located the woman conscious inside it.
A rescue boat collected the woman and provided first aid. She was later brought to the port of Katakolo and transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for examination. She had reportedly spent up to 20 hours in the water and was suffering from mild hypothermia.
Greek authorities had not disclosed how the woman went overboard. The Katakolo Port Authority was investigating the incident.
