Woman charged after children found alone during Carnival cruise
Court records say Belizaire faces four child-neglect counts and was arrested when Carnival Conquest returned to Miami.

Belizaire was charged with four counts of child neglect after allegedly leaving four children without adult supervision at her North Miami Beach home while she took a Carnival Conquest cruise, according to an arrest affidavit.
The arrest report states that Lether found his two-month-old daughter, whom he shares with Belizaire, and her three siblings without supervision. The children were supposed to be in Belizaire’s care, the report says. Authorities later forced entry into the residence and found all four children hiding in a bathroom.
Authorities allege Belizaire sailed on a three-night cruise from Sept. 25 through Sept. 28, 2026. Investigators determined that she had purchased a three-day Bahamas trip aboard Carnival Conquest departing Sept. 25. CruiseMapper listed Celebration Key in The Bahamas as the voyage’s destination.
Documents state that Belizaire was arrested while disembarking in Miami on Sept. 28 and declined to speak with officers. Her lawyer said she denied the allegation that she had left the children to take the cruise. Court records show she was ordered to stay away from the children and that bond was set at $10,000.
