Voyager of the Seas drops Puerto Vallarta call amid Hurricane Simon
Royal Caribbean revised the seven-night Mexican Riviera itinerary and added another full day in Cabo San Lucas.

Royal Caribbean changed Voyager of the Seas’ itinerary because of Hurricane Simon, telling passengers that a deteriorating forecast meant the ship could not safely call at Puerto Vallarta. The company said it explored available options before deciding to return to Cabo San Lucas for an additional full-day visit.
The ship was sailing a seven-night Mexican Riviera cruise from Los Angeles. Its original schedule included Catalina Island, Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán and Puerto Vallarta.
Voyager of the Seas was scheduled to arrive back in Cabo San Lucas on October 13 and remain in port from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. Royal Caribbean said prepaid company-operated shore excursions in Puerto Vallarta would be canceled, with refunds issued as onboard credit to passengers’ SeaPass accounts.
The cruise line also offered non-refundable onboard credit based on double occupancy. Inside and Oceanview staterooms were allocated $50, Balcony cabins $100 and Suites $250. According to the passenger letter, Royal Caribbean also provided a 20% discount on its shore excursions in Cabo San Lucas.
