Vision of the Seas swaps Bermuda call for overnight Canada visit
Royal Caribbean attributed the itinerary change to inclement weather affecting Bermuda and offered guests onboard credit.

Royal Caribbean’s Vision of the Seas departed Baltimore on October 17 for a sailing that was scheduled to include Bermuda. The cruise line later replaced that call with an overnight stay in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada.
In a notice to passengers, Royal Caribbean said its meteorology team had been monitoring inclement weather around Bermuda. The company said the conditions would make it difficult to provide a safe and comfortable trip to the destination, prompting the revised itinerary.
The cruise line advised passengers to bring light sweaters and other cooler-weather clothing because daytime temperatures in port were forecast to be in the mid-50s. Royal Caribbean also told guests they would not be allowed to disembark during the replacement port visit, adding that the onboard team would provide activities and services aboard the ship.
Compensation varied by cabin category and occupancy. Royal Caribbean provided $200 in onboard credit per suite, $150 per balcony stateroom and $75 for inside and outside staterooms. Cabins occupied by at least three passengers received $25 per person.
Vision of the Seas was expected to complete the sailing and return to Maryland on Thursday, October 22.
