Virgin Voyages tightens rules for future-voyage placeholders
New My Next Virgin Voyage placeholders restrict name changes, while earlier purchases retain their previous terms.

Virgin Voyages has tightened the rules for My Next Virgin Voyage, its onboard placeholder program. Passengers can make a $150 deposit while aboard to secure a future-voyage discount and Sailor Loot.
As of 06AUG26, names on newly purchased MNVV placeholders cannot be changed. The purchaser must remain the lead Sailor on the booking to which the placeholder is eventually applied. Virgin Voyages says reselling MNVV placeholders was never an authorized use of the program.
Placeholders bought before 06AUG retain their earlier terms until they are used, including the option for a one-time transfer.
Bookings converted at Premium, RockStar or Mega RockStar fare levels retain the ability to change all named passengers until 48 hours before departure. Base and Essential fares do not provide that flexibility after an MNVV placeholder is applied.
Virgin Voyages is also expected to remove the program’s two-year sail-by deadline in the fall, though the rollout timing remains unconfirmed. Under the expected structure, passengers would have one year to convert a placeholder into a confirmed booking, with unlimited date changes during that period. The voyage could be scheduled beyond the current two-year limit if the itinerary is on sale when the booking is made.
