Virgin Voyages reroutes Brilliant Lady amid tropical storm forecasts
The seven-night Mexican Riviera itinerary replaced three ports while retaining its scheduled October 17 return to Los Angeles.

Virgin Voyages revised Brilliant Lady’s seven-night Mexican Riviera voyage because of the projected paths of Tropical Storm Rachel and Tropical Storm Simon. The cruise line told guests it changed the planned route after reviewing the latest forecast, citing the safety of passengers and crew.
The original itinerary included Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta. All three calls were removed: Santa Barbara replaced Cabo San Lucas on October 12, San Diego replaced Mazatlan on October 13, and Ensenada replaced Puerto Vallarta on October 14. Ensenada is now the voyage’s only Mexican port. The ship remains scheduled to return to Los Angeles on October 17.
Virgin Voyages offered guests $100 per person in non-refundable Sailor Loot, its onboard credit, plus a $200 per-person Future Voyage Credit. MegaRockStar and RockStar guests were offered $200 per person in non-refundable Sailor Loot and a $300 per-person Future Voyage Credit.
