Virgin Voyages Pairs Comedy Lineup With Refreshed Valiant Lady
A specialty sailing from Portsmouth featured fare-inclusive performances and the cruise line’s regular entertainment program.
Virgin Voyages offered a specialty comedy cruise aboard Valiant Lady from Portsmouth, with performances included in the fare. The lineup featured comedians Lucy Beaumont, Babatunde Aleshé and Seann Walsh among its headliners.
The comedy program ran alongside the cruise line’s usual entertainment, including bingo hosted by the ship’s resident drag queen, cabaret and game shows. One game show offered a prize connected to the onboard tattoo parlor.
Valiant Lady has undergone a refurbishment despite being five years old. The work refreshed seating areas and menus while adding a restaurant.
According to an account of the sailing, standard Wi-Fi, soft drinks and all onboard restaurants were included. Dining options included The Galley, a food-market-style venue that serves dishes from several cuisines to order instead of operating as a traditional buffet.
Virgin Voyages describes its product as an adults-only boutique hotel at sea.
