Viking Takes Delivery of Viking Sekhmet for Nile River Fleet
The 82-guest vessel expands Viking’s Nile fleet to 10 ships and is scheduled to sail two Egypt itineraries.

Viking has taken delivery of Viking Sekhmet at the Massara shipyard in Cairo, bringing the company’s Nile River fleet to 10 vessels. The purpose-built river ship can accommodate 82 guests across 41 outside staterooms.
Viking Sekhmet is scheduled to operate the company’s 12-day Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary. The vessel is also due to sail Viking’s new Total Eclipse on the Nile itinerary in 2027.
The delivery forms part of Viking’s broader river fleet expansion. According to the company, its committed orderbook is expected to increase its global river fleet to 114 ships by 2028. That projection includes Viking’s continued growth in Egypt, where Viking Sekhmet is the latest addition to its Nile operations.
