Viking names seven new river ships in Amsterdam ceremony
The vessels are scheduled to operate popular Viking itineraries in Europe and Egypt.

Viking has named seven new river ships during a ceremony in Amsterdam. Two of the vessels attended the event in person, while the other five participated virtually from locations across three additional countries.
Four of the additions—Viking Haki, Viking Halogi, Viking Sjofn and Viking Rota—are Viking Longships intended for service on the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers. Viking Fjolvar is designated for itineraries on France’s Seine River.
The remaining two vessels, Viking Sekhmet and Viking Ptah, are scheduled to operate on the Nile River in Egypt. Collectively, the seven ships will sail a selection of the company’s popular European and Egyptian itineraries.
Viking selected travel advisors and other cruise industry leaders to serve as godparents for the new vessels. The naming event linked the ships participating remotely with the ceremony in the Netherlands.
