U.S. cruise passenger arrested after Nassau traffic dispute
The unidentified tourist reportedly paid $1,100 for damage to a vehicle after an incident on Bay Street.

A U.S. cruise passenger was arrested in downtown Nassau after allegedly punching and breaking a vehicle’s side window during a traffic dispute, according to a report.
The passenger was reportedly attempting to stop traffic without authorization on Bay Street to allow a convoy of all-terrain vehicles to pass. When a local driver tried to proceed, the tourist allegedly struck the vehicle’s window and broke it.
A retired police officer who witnessed the incident contacted authorities, the report said. After his arrest, the passenger was reportedly offered the option of facing charges or covering the cost of the damage. He chose to pay and, with financial help from other tourists, provided the driver with $1,100.
Authorities did not release the man’s identity. The report described him only as a heavily tattooed tourist from the United States. No date was disclosed for the incident, and the cruise ship involved was not identified.
