Two passengers arrested after alleged altercation aboard cruise ship
Brevard County authorities said the incident involved two adults and a 9-year-old child before the unidentified vessel returned to Port Canaveral.
Gannon Jacox, 29, and Brooklyn Hicks, 28, were arrested Saturday evening at Port Canaveral following an alleged altercation aboard a cruise ship, according to Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey.
Ivey alleged that the passengers forced their way into a family’s room, where Jacox attacked two adults and their 9-year-old child. The sheriff said Jacox struck all three family members, while Hicks allegedly swung at them. None of the family members suffered serious injuries, according to Ivey.
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office said Jacox was charged with burglary with battery and child abuse without great bodily harm. Hicks was charged with burglary with battery and battery-touch/strike.
Both suspects were booked into the Brevard County Jail. Online records cited in connection with the case listed Jacox’s bond at $31,000 and Hicks’ bond at $6,000. The vessel on which the alleged incident occurred was not identified.
