Two Ohio passengers charged after cruise ship cabin altercation

Brevard County authorities say three people were struck after a request to quiet an argument aboard a docked ship.

Two Ohio residents were arrested following an altercation aboard a cruise ship docked in Brevard County over the weekend, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities identified them as Brooklyn Hicks and Gannon Jacox.

Investigators said the confrontation began after a family in a nearby stateroom asked the couple to lower their voices during a loud argument. An arrest affidavit alleges that Jacox forced his way through the family’s cabin door and repeatedly punched all three victims, leaving them with bruising and swelling. The affidavit also alleges that he struck a child in the face.

A separate affidavit for Hicks alleges that she entered the cabin while Jacox was hitting the victims and struck one person several times after he directed her to do so. Both were booked into the local jail Saturday night. Jacox faces charges of burglary with battery, child abuse without great bodily harm and misdemeanor battery. Hicks faces charges of burglary with battery and misdemeanor battery.
