Two detained after reported cabin altercation on unidentified cruise ship

An altercation was reported aboard an unidentified cruise ship operating within Brevard County, Florida. Authorities’ information dates the incident to Aug. 18, 2026, while a separate custody account says Gannon Jacox, 29, and Brooklyn Hicks, 28, were detained by Brevard County Sheriff’s deputies at Port Canaveral on Aug. 15.
According to county authorities, Jacox and Hicks were arguing and consuming alcohol when another passenger asked them to lower their noise. They allegedly forced their way into that passenger’s private cabin, where three people, including a nine-year-old child, were present.
Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey alleged that Jacox struck all three occupants, including the child, while Hicks swung at them during the ensuing confrontation. Authorities said nobody sustained serious injuries. Ship personnel reportedly contained the situation until the vessel returned to Florida, where deputies were waiting at the terminal.
Official jail records list charges against Jacox of felony burglary with assault or battery, felony child abuse without great bodily harm, and misdemeanor battery. The supplied records do not identify the ship or specify charges against Hicks.
