Two arrested after alleged cruise ship cabin altercation

Brevard County authorities said the case involved an unauthorized cabin entry and an alleged assault on three occupants, including a child.

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office identified Gannon Jacox and Brooklyn Hicks as the two suspects arrested following an altercation aboard an unidentified cruise ship.

Investigators alleged that Hicks and Jacox entered the victims’ cabin without permission after a dispute over noise. According to authorities, Jacox then struck all three occupants, including a 9-year-old child, while Hicks repeatedly hit one of the adults.

Authorities said one victim had visible redness and marks on her face. Investigators reported that none of the three victims sustained serious injuries.

The sheriff’s office said Jacox was charged with burglary with battery and child abuse without great bodily harm. Hicks was charged with burglary with assault or battery and misdemeanor battery.

Officials had not publicly named the cruise line or vessel involved. The investigation remained active, and authorities had not disclosed whether they were considering additional charges.
