Tracy Arm absent from Royal Caribbean’s announced 2028 Alaska cruise descriptions
The cruise line has not confirmed whether every visit to the fjord has been ruled out for the season.

Royal Caribbean has announced seven-night Alaska cruises aboard Anthem, Ovation, Serenade and Voyager of the Seas. Departures are scheduled to begin in April 2028 from Seattle, Vancouver and Seward.
Descriptions of the announced itineraries do not mention Tracy Arm Fjord. However, Royal Caribbean’s announcement does not establish that the destination has been removed from every 2028 sailing. The company’s website still lists Tracy Arm sightseeing from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 8, 2027, during a seven-night Alaska Inside Passage cruise aboard Serenade of the Seas.
Royal Caribbean removed Tracy Arm from its 2026 Alaska itineraries after an Aug. 10, 2025, landslide near South Sawyer Glacier. The U.S. Geological Survey said mountainside material entered the fjord, generated a tsunami and left potential hazards that could persist for years, including further rockfall and smaller landslides.
Citing unsuitable navigation conditions and its focus on passenger safety, Royal Caribbean said affected Alaska itineraries would visit Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier instead. Guest notices shared on social media also indicate Virgin Voyages is substituting those destinations for Tracy Arm on 13 Brilliant Lady sailings in 2027 because of continued landslide risk.
