Timaru cruise schedule rises to 17 confirmed calls
Norwegian Spirit is due to visit eight times as Timaru prepares for an expected record season.

Timaru now has 17 cruise ship visits confirmed for the coming season, increasing the earlier number of calls expected at the port. The revised schedule is set to make it the busiest cruise season recorded for Timaru.
Norwegian Spirit accounts for eight of the confirmed calls. The addition of those visits significantly increased the previous tally for the season and contributes nearly half of the port’s scheduled cruise traffic.
The coming season is expected to deliver three times the number of cruise visits Timaru received before the pandemic. The anticipated record follows the release last year of Journey to 30, a joint cruise strategy from PrimePort and Timaru focused on expanding the region’s cruise business.
