Tender boats collide during Carnival Legend guest transfers near Guernsey
A window was broken and tender operations were delayed, but reports indicated no passengers or crew members were injured.
Two tender vessels collided while guests from Carnival Legend were being transferred near St Peter Port on Guernsey Island, according to reports. The impact shattered a window on one of the boats.
Reports indicated that all passengers and crew members escaped injury. The collision temporarily slowed morning tender operations, reportedly preventing some guests from leaving the ship before its scheduled departure and causing missed shore excursions.
One passenger said their tender number was not called until after 1 p.m. As a result, the passenger said they missed an excursion and no longer had enough time to disembark before the ship was due to leave.
Cruise Mapper data cited in the report placed Carnival Legend near St Peter Port at the time of the collision. The ship was sailing a 12-day round-trip itinerary from Dover, United Kingdom.
Carnival Cruise Line was contacted for comment but had not responded by publication time.
