Tasmania expects 85 cruise ship visits in coming season
The early-November-to-April schedule is projected to bring about 168,000 passengers and 62,000 crew to the state.

Tasmania is preparing to receive 85 cruise ship visits during the coming season, which is scheduled to run from early November through April. Current projections put total arrivals at approximately 168,000 passengers and 62,000 crew members.
Destination Southern Tasmania chief executive Alex Heroys said the schedule includes 56 calls at Hobart and 12 at Port Arthur. He said those visits would bring a substantial influx of people to the city and surrounding regions over summer.
The projected statewide call count is below the previous year’s expectations. At that time, Tasmania had anticipated 104 cruise calls and more than 175,000 passengers disembarking.
Former TasPorts chief executive Anthony Donald previously estimated that Tasmania’s 2025-26 cruise season would contribute about $170 million to the state.
