Survey finds European cruise interest among Indian travellers
Royal Caribbean-commissioned research highlights demand for multi-destination trips as Legend of the Seas prepares for Mediterranean service.

A YouGov survey commissioned by Royal Caribbean found that 67% of Indian respondents viewed a multi-destination European cruise as appealing. Among those surveyed in India, Italy was the most preferred destination at 51%, followed by France at 48%, the UK at 45% and Spain at 30%.
The research also examined perceived cruise benefits. Forty-five percent of Indian participants identified the ease of visiting several destinations as a leading advantage, while 42% pointed to safety and comfort. Another 40% highlighted meals and entertainment included in the trip.
For travel between destinations in Europe, cruises and short-haul flights were each preferred by 24% of respondents, narrowly behind trains at 25%.
YouGov conducted the survey from May 28 through June 8, 2026, covering 6,223 adults across India, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. The findings come ahead of Legend of the Seas’ scheduled launch of Mediterranean sailings from Barcelona and Rome in September.
