Sun Princess tops mega-ship category for third consecutive year
Reader voting placed the Princess Cruises ship first again in 2026, while sister ship Star Princess reached its first year of eligibility.

Sun Princess earned the top position in Condé Nast Traveler’s Mega Cruise Ship category for 2026, according to the report on the recognition. The result marked the ship’s third consecutive win after taking the same honor in 2024 and 2025. The awards were determined by votes from the publication’s readers.
The recognition also represented a first-year milestone for Star Princess, which became eligible for the Readers’ Choice Awards after being included on the 2026 Hot List earlier in the year, the report said.
Sun Princess entered service in 2024 as Princess Cruises’ first Sphere-Class vessel. Star Princess, the second ship in that class, debuted in October 2025.
Both ships are described as 177,000-ton vessels with capacity for 4,300 guests. Their itineraries include Alaska for Star Princess, the Mediterranean for Sun Princess, and Caribbean sailings. The ships combine broad ocean views and large architectural spaces with the personalized service associated with Princess, according to the report.
