Starboard won the Best Cruise Retail Initiative award for the shopping experience developed aboard Celebrity Xcel. The honor was presented at the 2026 Global Travel Retail Awards in Cannes.
The recognized project was titled Redefining Retail at Sea: The Multisensory Experience of Celebrity Xcel. Starboard representatives Benito Mendez and Matteo Assalino accepted the award in Cannes.
Starboard credited its partnership with Celebrity Cruises, along with the teams involved in bringing the retail concept to life. The company linked the recognition to the collaborative work behind the onboard shopping experience.
Celebrity Xcel was also named to a 2026 Hot List recognizing notable new and recently transformed travel experiences.
