St. Kitts passes one million cruise passengers as new programs approach
P&O Cruises plans to begin Basseterre homeport operations in November 2027, following a Celebrity Cruises cultural program in January of that year.

St. Kitts had recorded 1,002,282 cruise passengers by August 20. It was the first time the island had exceeded one million arrivals since the global cruise shutdown in 2020.
P&O Cruises is scheduled to launch homeport operations in Basseterre in November 2027. The program will enable passengers to start and finish selected cruises in St. Kitts.
Separately, a partnership with Celebrity Cruises is set to introduce a cultural experience called Sugarmas in January 2027. The program will feature workshops aboard the ship that introduce passengers to Kittitian culture before they arrive. The workshops are intended to create a stronger connection between the onboard experience and activities on the island.
