St. Kitts and Nevis has received more than one million cruise passengers so far in 2026, according to publicly available reporting. The report described this as the first time St. Kitts has crossed that threshold since before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Official statistics cited in the report put cruise passenger traffic at approximately 1.23 million in 2024, providing a recent foundation for continued growth in cruise arrivals.
In July 2026, the government broke ground on a new cruise terminal development at Port Zante. Official releases cited by the report say the facility is intended to accommodate turnaround operations, enabling passengers to start and finish cruises in Basseterre instead of visiting only as a port of call.
Earlier announcements cited in the report said P&O Cruises plans to begin home-porting operations in St. Kitts in late 2027, with Basseterre serving as an embarkation point for selected Caribbean itineraries.
Cruise tourism also represents a significant source of visitor spending for the federation. Analyses prepared for the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association estimated that passengers, crew members and cruise lines generated tens of millions of dollars in direct annual spending during recent seasons.
