Silver Spirit leaves Fishguard hours ahead of schedule
A report said passengers did not make the expected trip ashore, while the reason for ending the call early remained unconfirmed.
Silver Spirit arrived off Fishguard on August 20 during an 11-night cruise around the British Isles but departed hours earlier than planned.
The Silversea vessel had been scheduled to arrive at 9:00am and remain until half past seven in the evening, giving passengers much of the day to visit Fishguard and other areas of Pembrokeshire.
According to a report, passengers aboard Silver Spirit did not make the anticipated visit ashore before the ship departed. They were understood to have been unable to transfer safely to shore, although the precise reason for abandoning the call had not been officially confirmed.
No official explanation for shortening the Fishguard visit had been issued when the report was published.
Silver Spirit is 210 metres long and carries more than 400 crew members. A separate report said the ship can accommodate 636 guests and about 415 crew members.
