Serenade of the Seas resumes Alaska service after repairs
Royal Caribbean said a technical issue was resolved after the ship’s previous sailing was canceled.

Serenade of the Seas welcomed passengers back for a seven-night, round-trip Alaska cruise following repairs that prompted Royal Caribbean to cancel the ship’s previous voyage. The ship was scheduled to depart Vancouver at 4 p.m. on September 6.
A Royal Caribbean representative said crews had completed all necessary repairs and fully resolved the issue, with no changes to the new sailing’s itinerary. The voyage was scheduled to visit Sitka, Tracy Arm Fjord, Juneau, Icy Strait Point and Ketchikan before returning to Vancouver on September 13.
The earlier cruise was initially delayed by two days after the ship developed a propulsion issue. Royal Caribbean planned to replace the original seven-night itinerary with a shortened five-night sailing departing September 1. The company later canceled that voyage after determining the ship could not safely leave within the time available.
Affected passengers were offered refunds and a Future Cruise Credit equal to 100% of the amount paid for the cruise. Royal Caribbean also said it would reimburse each guest for flight changes, up to $200 for domestic travel or $400 for international travel.
