Seatrade Cruise Med to examine luxury fleet growth
Las Palmas conference sessions will focus on passenger expectations and hotel brands entering the cruise market.

Seatrade Cruise Med was scheduled for September 16–17 at the Santa Catalina Terminal in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, with sessions addressing developments in luxury cruising.
Figures cited in the event report show the worldwide luxury fleet expanding from 28 vessels in 2010 to 97 in 2024. Figen Ayan also said luxury or expedition vessels account for more than 40% of ships due for delivery by 2028, arguing that the new capacity will require a better understanding of passengers as well as distinctive experiences.
A panel examining the expectations of luxury cruise passengers was set for September 16 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. in Lanzarote Hall. Forbes Travel Guide was listed as the sponsor of the discussion.
The following day, a fireside conversation was scheduled to consider the entry of hotel brands into cruising. The September 17 session, planned for 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. in Lanzarote Hall, was due to feature Orient Express Silenseas CEO Philippe Hetland-Brault and Four Seasons Yachts CEO Ben Trodd.
