Search continues after Carnival Panorama passenger goes overboard
The incident occurred as the ship sailed from Puerto Vallarta to Long Beach on the last day of a seven-night cruise.

A male passenger was reported missing Saturday aboard Carnival Panorama while the ship was traveling from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, to Long Beach, California. The sailing was on the final day of a seven-night cruise.
Passengers were directed to remain in their cabins as crew members searched the vessel and examined footage from its man-overboard camera system. A subsequent announcement aboard the ship said the passenger had gone overboard and that local authorities would continue search-and-rescue operations.
Carnival Cruise Line said CCTV footage showed the guest jumping overboard. According to the company, the ship began search and investigation procedures after learning he was missing and notified the U.S. and Mexico Coast Guards.
The cruise line also said its team was providing assistance to the passenger’s family, who had been traveling with him. Authorities had not publicly identified the passenger or disclosed why he went overboard.
