Scenic Eclipse makes rare Halifax call
The luxury discovery yacht visited with helicopters, a submersible and capacity for 228 passengers.

Scenic Eclipse made a rare stop in Halifax, bringing one of Scenic Group’s luxury discovery yachts to the port. Described as a six-star vessel, the ship carries about 200 crew members and can accommodate up to 228 passengers.
Onboard features include two helicopters, a submersible, butler service for every room and 10 dining options. Tickets for the 11-day itinerary were priced between $17,000 and $20,000. Scenic Group, which owns the vessel, expects its third luxury discovery yacht to begin sailing in 2028.
Sarah Rumley, executive director of the Atlantic Canada Cruise Association, said the region receives around 20 luxury boutique cruise ships calling at Halifax, Sydney, Charlottetown, Saint John, Corner Brook and St. John’s, along with several smaller niche ports.
Port of Halifax cruise development manager Robyn Stewart said Halifax routinely welcomes 15 luxury cruise lines. Stewart added that the port typically supports between six and eight partial or full passenger embarkations each season for small boutique, luxury and expedition vessels.
