Scenic Eclipse II Pairs Polar Engineering With All-Suite Amenities
The expedition yacht’s features include oversized stabilizers, veranda accommodations, butler service and an accessible thermal lounge.

A 12-night Scenic Cruises voyage from Norway to Portugal aboard Scenic Eclipse II encountered a 20-foot gale in the North Sea, according to a firsthand report of the sailing.
Scenic Eclipse II is engineered to Polar Class 6 standards and fitted with custom zero-speed fin stabilizers. The stabilizers are described as about 50% larger than the industry standard and designed to counter rolling both while the yacht is sailing and at anchor.
Scenic Eclipse II and sister vessel Scenic Eclipse are purpose-built expedition ships operating in Antarctica and the Arctic, including remote polar areas where ice, rough seas and quickly changing conditions may be present.
Every stateroom on Scenic Eclipse II is an all-veranda suite, and butler service is included across all suite categories. The yacht also offers as many as 10 dining experiences, including contemporary French venue Lumière and Koko’s, which serves sushi and dishes from robata grills.
Scenic describes the onboard experience as all-inclusive, with guests not required to sign a bill after each drink. The Senses Spa thermal lounge is also available without booking a treatment or purchasing a separate day pass.
