Ruby Princess opens San Diego’s 2026-27 cruise season
The port projects more than 700,000 passengers as Disney Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean expand their local presence.

San Diego’s 2026-27 cruise season began with Ruby Princess docking at the B Street Pier Cruise Terminal for Princess Cruises’ seven-day Classic California Coast itinerary. Another 183 voyages are scheduled to follow during the season.
The Port of San Diego expects individual cruise ship calls to rise 68% from the previous year. Passenger volume is projected to increase from 389,000 last season to more than 700,000, with the growth largely attributed to expanded operations by Disney Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean.
Disney plans to deploy two ships in San Diego for the first time during the 2026-27 season, including Disney Magic. Royal Caribbean has announced 47 calls that are expected to bring 177,660 passengers during the current season.
Princess Cruises also plans further growth. The company expects to increase its San Diego stops from six this season to 17 in 2027-28, although much of that expansion will involve port calls by cruises originating elsewhere.
Other cruise companies scheduled to visit San Diego include Holland America, Norwegian, MSC Cruises, Virgin Voyages, Silversea Cruises and Viking Cruises.
