Royal Caribbean tests app-based room service on Star of the Seas
Passengers reported ordering from breakfast and all-day menus without calling, though the option was not available fleetwide.

Royal Caribbean has begun testing app-based room service ordering, with passengers aboard Star of the Seas reporting that they could select items from breakfast or all-day menus through the cruise line’s mobile app. The feature offers an alternative to placing an order by phone. At the time of the reports, the option had not been introduced across the full fleet.
The Royal Caribbean app also supports pre-cruise check-in, allowing passengers to submit required information without using the company’s website. Once onboard, users can browse the daily planner and filter listings by activities, entertainment, excursions, shops, spa or fitness. Individual activities and shows can also be saved to a user’s calendar.
Passengers who enable notifications can receive reminders for reservations, activities and entertainment. The app additionally includes complimentary onboard messaging for guests ages 13 and older. On embarkation day, a Welcome Aboard section provides voyage and ship information, including the locations of designated smoking areas, the port address and guidance for making My Time Dining reservations.
