Royal Caribbean says comedy offerings vary by ship and itinerary
Legend of the Seas is expected to host comedy acts during its transatlantic sailing despite lacking a dedicated comedy club.
Royal Caribbean says its comedy programming depends on the individual ship and itinerary, as questions emerge about the availability of stand-up shows aboard Legend of the Seas and Allure of the Seas.
Matt Hochberg, who sailed on Legend of the Seas twice and reviewed its entertainment schedules, said he found no adult or family comedy show listed. Unlike sister ships Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas, which feature The Attic comedy club, Legend uses the corresponding space for Royal Railway – Legend Station, a specialty dining venue.
Royal Caribbean said Legend will feature comedy acts on its transatlantic sailing. The company added that future performers in the ship’s America’s Got Talent LIVE on Stage production may also include comedy.
Hochberg separately reported that Allure of the Seas recently discontinued its adult comedy show. That account cited an email a reader said they received from a representative aboard the ship stating that Allure no longer offered a dedicated adult comedy performance. The reported programming changes do not apply across Royal Caribbean’s entire fleet.
