Royal Caribbean’s Legend of the Seas set for summer launch in Europe
The third Icon-class ship will feature seven pools, 20 bars, 28 restaurants and a large waterpark area.
Royal Caribbean’s Legend of the Seas is scheduled to launch in Europe this summer, expanding the cruise line’s Icon-class fleet. It is the third ship in the class, with four more under development. The next iterations are expected to be delivered in 2029 and 2030.
According to reported specifications, the ship measures 364.84 metres long, has gross tonnage of 248,663 and can accommodate as many as 7,600 passengers. Its onboard offering includes seven pools, 20 bars and 28 restaurants.
Thrill Island will occupy 17,010 square feet on deck 16 and feature six waterslides. Among them is Frightening Bolt, a 46-foot-high slide that begins with a near-vertical drop.
Another attraction, Royal Railway Legend station, will provide a virtual train journey tracing Marco Polo’s route. Digital scenery will depict India, China and Italy, accompanied by food inspired by each destination. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will serve as the ship’s flagship theatre production during its maiden season.
