Royal Caribbean’s Legend of the Seas Begins Inaugural Season
The Icon Class ship will spend the summer in the Mediterranean before repositioning to Fort Lauderdale in November.

Royal Caribbean’s Legend of the Seas departed Rome’s Civitavecchia port on July 4 for its inaugural sailing. During its first summer season, the new Icon Class ship will operate seven-night Western Mediterranean itineraries from Barcelona and Rome.
The cruise line says the vessel features its most extensive dining lineup at sea, spanning 28 venues and experiences. New options include Hollywoodland Supper Club, themed around cinema’s golden age, and Royal Railway – Legend Station, which offers a culinary experience inspired by the historic Silk Routes.
Entertainment includes Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in the Royal Theatre, the AquaTheater production Shockwave and the ice show Fusion in Absolute Zero. America’s Got Talent LIVE on Legend of the Seas, a stage production based on the television franchise, is scheduled to debut aboard the ship in August.
In November, Legend of the Seas will reposition to Fort Lauderdale for six-night Western Caribbean and eight-night Southern Caribbean cruises. Planned destinations include Aruba, Curaçao and Royal Caribbean’s private destination, Perfect Day at CocoCay.
