An automatic 18% gratuity applies to beverage-package purchases. At an advertised daily price of $84, the total becomes $99.12 per person per day. For a seven-night cruise, the example cost is $693.84 for one adult and $1,387.68 for two adults.
Published estimates suggest approximately six to eight cocktails or nine to 11 beers per day may be needed for the Deluxe Beverage Package to break even. Royal Caribbean requires all guests of legal drinking age in the same stateroom to buy the package when one guest purchases it.
Royal Caribbean said guests may choose among the Classic Soda Package, Refreshment Package and Deluxe Beverage Package. The packages can be used at specified onboard venues and at Perfect Day at CocoCay and Labadee. Room service, minibar beverages and purchases from licensed Starbucks locations are excluded.
