Royal Caribbean revises Navigator of the Seas itinerary amid Polo forecast

Ensenada and Cabo San Lucas are being replaced by a sea day, Mazatlán and a new call at Puerto Vallarta.

Royal Caribbean has notified guests booked on Navigator of the Seas that the ship’s weekend itinerary will change because of the forecast path of Hurricane Polo near western Mexico.

Under the revised schedule, the planned stop in Ensenada will become a day at sea. Navigator of the Seas will also call at Mazatlán rather than Cabo San Lucas and add Puerto Vallarta to the itinerary. The ship is scheduled to remain in Puerto Vallarta from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.

The cruise line said prepaid Royal Caribbean shore excursions for Ensenada and Cabo San Lucas will be returned to guests as onboard credit, available for use aboard the ship. Any portion of that credit left unused at the end of the voyage will be refunded to the card connected to the guest’s onboard account.

According to the report, the passenger notification did not specify any additional compensation for people booked on the sailing. The National Hurricane Center characterized Polo as an exceptionally hazardous tropical storm.
