Royal Caribbean passengers report disputed pool towel fees
The cruise line provides complimentary towels but charges $25 for each one not recorded as returned.

Royal Caribbean allows guests to borrow complimentary pool or beach towels aboard its ships and for visits ashore. According to the company’s website, passengers must present a SeaPass card when collecting towels and check in the same number afterward. Any towel not returned by the end of the cruise can trigger a $25 charge to the guest’s onboard account.
Several passengers have alleged that fees appeared despite attempted or completed returns. Reddit user IJustWorkHere99 said crew members collecting towels after a CoCoCay visit did not scan SeaPass cards or note stateroom numbers. The user later received a $100 charge for four towels, while the user’s mother was billed $25 for one.
Another user, Ok_Depth_6476, said a manually recorded return still resulted in a fee, which was removed after the account was reviewed. User theresaketo reported awaiting a credit after being charged despite scanning and returning all towels.
Downtown-Ball6994 alleged that a scanning mistake aboard Wonder led to a $300 bill. The user said six towels checked out under one account were mistakenly recorded as six additional checkouts when the user’s wife returned them.
A separate traveler said two returned towels were charged during an Icon of the Seas sailing, but the fees were easily removed before disembarkation near Guest Services.
