Royal Caribbean passenger found conscious after 20 hours in Ionian Sea
Greek authorities said a cargo ship located the 44-year-old woman inside a life ring after an overnight search southwest of Zakynthos.

A Royal Caribbean passenger was found conscious after spending about 20 hours in the Ionian Sea, according to a Greek coast guard spokesperson.
The Hellenic Coast Guard said the 44-year-old woman from El Salvador went overboard on October 9. Authorities received the initial alert while the cruise ship was 72 nautical miles southwest of the Greek island of Zakynthos.
Officials activated an emergency response plan and sent a rescue boat and patrol vessel to the area. A Hellenic Air Force Super Puma helicopter and passing ships also participated in the search. Royal Caribbean confirmed that it began a search and coordinated with authorities.
Early on October 10, the cargo ship MSC Rossella III located the woman conscious inside an orange life ring, the coast guard said. A coast guard rescue vessel then recovered her and provided first aid.
