Royal Caribbean Names Gen. Lori J. Robinson Godmother of Legend of the Seas
The retired U.S. Air Force general will participate in the ship’s Veterans Day naming ceremony before its Fort Lauderdale debut.

Royal Caribbean has selected retired U.S. Air Force Gen. Lori J. Robinson as godmother of Legend of the Seas. Robinson, the first woman to serve as a U.S. combatant commander, is scheduled to take part in the ship’s naming ceremony on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.
Legend of the Seas will arrive in Fort Lauderdale following its inaugural summer season in Europe. From the South Florida homeport, it will operate six-night Western Caribbean and eight-night Southern Caribbean itineraries. The Southern Caribbean sailings will visit Oranjestad, Aruba, and Willemstad, Curacao, while every announced itinerary will call at Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas.
On board, the ship will offer 28 dining venues and seven pools. Entertainment will include America’s Got Talent LIVE and a production of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
