Royal Caribbean marks keel laying for fifth Icon Class ship
The vessel is scheduled to begin sailing in 2028, with two more ships in the class planned through 2030.

Royal Caribbean has held a keel-laying ceremony for its fifth Icon Class cruise ship at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Turku, Finland. The milestone marks the start of physical construction on the new vessel.
The cruise line plans for the ship to make its maiden voyage in 2028. Additional construction and outfitting work remains before the vessel enters service.
Royal Caribbean also has two further Icon Class ships in its plans. Those vessels are scheduled for 2029 and 2030, respectively. Together with the ship now under construction, they would extend the company’s Icon Class expansion through the end of the decade.
Royal Caribbean has not provided further details about the fifth ship in the supplied information, including its name, itineraries or onboard features. For now, the confirmed timeline centers on the keel-laying milestone in Finland and the planned 2028 debut.
