Royal Caribbean Keeps Health Screening Despite Ending COVID Test Rules
Passengers no longer need pre-cruise tests or COVID-19 vaccination, but they must complete a health questionnaire before sailing.
Royal Caribbean no longer requires passengers to take a COVID-19 test before any of its sailings. The cruise line also does not require COVID-19 vaccination, although its published guidance recommends that guests be fully vaccinated.
All passengers must complete a health questionnaire as part of the pre-cruise check-in process. The questions become available about 24 hours before the scheduled start of the sailing and include a question related to COVID-19 symptoms.
Royal Caribbean’s policy states that passengers who receive a positive test result or have documented symptoms of a communicable disease during boarding will be denied boarding. The report says a passenger who answers yes to the relevant health question will not receive a SetSail pass and will need to speak with an officer at the cruise terminal.
The report also states that Royal Caribbean will not provide a cruise refund when a passenger becomes ill with COVID-19 before departure.
