Royal Caribbean Group to Invest $3 Billion in Sandals Partnership
The cruise company plans to acquire a 50% interest in Sandals and Beaches Resorts, with the transaction expected to close in early 2027.

Royal Caribbean Group and Sandals Resorts have signed an agreement to establish a partnership in the all-inclusive resort market. Under the agreement, Royal Caribbean Group will invest approximately $3 billion for a 50% equity interest in Sandals and Beaches Resorts.
Royal Caribbean Group said it has secured committed debt financing from Morgan Stanley to fund the investment. The companies expect the transaction to close in early 2027, subject to customary approvals and other closing conditions.
The joint venture will be overseen by a board under the shared leadership of Sandals Executive Chairman Adam Stewart and Royal Caribbean Group President and CEO Jason Liberty. Stewart will continue as executive chairman of Sandals and Beaches Resorts, guiding the company’s long-term strategic growth.
The companies said existing reservations, loyalty programs, resort operations and cruise operations will continue as usual. Through the partnership, they plan to consider ways to expand distribution, strengthen guest engagement and make vacation options across their respective portfolios easier for travelers to discover.
