Royal Caribbean Group to Buy 50% Stake in Sandals and Beaches Resorts
The approximately $3 billion investment values the Caribbean all-inclusive resort business at about $6 billion.

Royal Caribbean Group has agreed to pay approximately $3 billion for a 50% stake in Sandals and Beaches Resorts, expanding the cruise company’s interests into Caribbean all-inclusive resorts. The agreement values the resort business at about $6 billion.
The transaction is expected to close in early 2027, pending regulatory clearance and other customary approvals. Morgan Stanley has provided committed debt financing for Royal Caribbean Group’s investment.
Sandals executive chairman Adam Stewart will retain a leadership role and work with Royal Caribbean Group chairman and CEO Jason Liberty. A board operating under their shared leadership will govern the joint venture.
The companies expect existing reservations, loyalty programs and resort operations to continue without changes. They also said they plan to evaluate opportunities to expand distribution, strengthen engagement with guests and help travelers more easily find vacation options across the Royal Caribbean, Sandals and Beaches portfolios.
