Royal Caribbean Group to acquire 50% stake in Sandals and Beaches Resorts
The approximately $3 billion investment will establish an all-inclusive resort joint venture, with closing targeted for early 2027.

Royal Caribbean Group and Sandals Resorts have signed an agreement to create a joint venture in the all-inclusive resort sector. Under the deal, Royal Caribbean Group will acquire a 50% equity interest in Sandals and Beaches Resorts for approximately $3 billion.
The transaction is expected to close in early 2027, subject to regulatory approvals and other closing conditions. Royal Caribbean Group, parent company of Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Silversea Cruises, has secured committed debt financing from Morgan Stanley to fund the investment. The company expects the transaction to contribute to earnings in 2027.
The joint venture will be overseen by a board co-led by Sandals Resorts Executive Chairman Adam Stewart and Royal Caribbean Group Chairman and CEO Jason Liberty. Stewart will remain executive chairman of Sandals and Beaches Resorts and continue guiding their long-term strategic direction.
According to the companies, existing reservations, loyalty programs and resort and cruise operations will continue without interruption while the partnership adds resources for future growth initiatives.
