Royal Caribbean Group takes 50% stake in Sandals and Beaches Resorts
The US$3 billion transaction is expected to close in early 2027, pending customary approvals and closing conditions.

Royal Caribbean Group has acquired a 50% interest in Sandals and Beaches Resorts through a US$3 billion deal. The transaction, which remains subject to customary approvals and closing conditions, is expected to be completed in early 2027.
The resulting joint venture will encompass all Sandals and Beaches properties across the Caribbean and is intended to support expansion. Royal Caribbean Group has obtained committed debt financing from Morgan Stanley to fund its investment.
A board jointly led by Adam Stewart and Royal Caribbean Group President and CEO Jason Liberty will govern the venture. Stewart will continue as Executive Chairman of Sandals and Beaches Resorts, guiding the company’s long-term strategic growth. Existing reservations, loyalty programs, resort operations and cruise operations are expected to proceed as usual, while the partnership will provide additional resources for future opportunities.
