Royal Caribbean Group proposes $3 billion Sandals investment
The cruise company plans to acquire a 50% equity stake in Sandals and Beaches Resorts, with the transaction targeted to close in early 2027.

Royal Caribbean Group has proposed investing $3 billion in Sandals Resorts under an agreement that would bring its cruise brands and the Caribbean all-inclusive resort portfolio into a closer partnership.
Under the announced agreement, Royal Caribbean Group plans to acquire a 50% equity stake in Sandals and Beaches Resorts. The proposed transaction would link the company’s broader vacation platform, which includes Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises and Silversea, with the Sandals and Beaches all-inclusive portfolio.
The companies said the partnership is expected to support further expansion of Sandals and Beaches Resorts while increasing the range of vacation experiences offered across Royal Caribbean Group’s portfolio.
The transaction is expected to close in early 2027, subject to required approvals and customary closing conditions. The Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association said the proposed investment could bring the cruise and resort sectors closer together and reshape Caribbean tourism.
