Royal Caribbean formalizes beverage package accommodation requests
Guests seeking an exemption based on disability, a medical condition or pregnancy can use a new request process, with responses reportedly taking 10 business days.

Royal Caribbean introduced a formal Beverage Package Accommodation Request process on Sept. 7, 2026, according to the report. The process allows guests to seek an accommodation based on disability, a medical condition or pregnancy. The reported response time is 10 business days.
The report says guests approved to forgo the Deluxe Beverage Package must instead purchase the Royal Refreshment Package. That nonalcoholic option includes premium coffee and tea, fresh-squeezed juice, bottled water and fountain soda.
An automatic 18% gratuity applies to all beverage-package purchases, according to the report. For an approved exemption, the charge is recalculated using the lower price of the Royal Refreshment Package.
The report also says Royal Caribbean stopped including the Coca-Cola Freestyle souvenir cup in the package’s base price on March 15, 2026. The cup is now sold separately for $4.99.
According to the reported policy, providing false information to secure an exemption may result in retroactive Deluxe Beverage Package charges for the full cruise. More serious consequences may include removal from the ship without a refund for the remaining voyage or a lifetime ban from Royal Caribbean and sister brands Celebrity Cruises and Silversea.
