Royal Caribbean, Carnival and Princess outline new Australia cruise offerings

Lelepa calls, an upgraded Ovation of the Seas and a new Sapphire Princess deployment are among plans for 2027 and 2028.

Royal Caribbean plans to route the vast majority of its Australia sailings to its forthcoming beach club at Lelepa, Vanuatu, from late 2027. The planned destination will feature multiple beach areas, including an adults-only section, as well as a nature trail, restaurants, beach games and water-sports equipment rentals.

The company will also return Ovation of the Seas to Australia for the 2027-28 season after upgrades. Planned additions include a redesigned pool deck, private cabanas, a new whirlpool, Izumi Teppanyaki and Giovanni’s restaurants, a Starbucks, the Sound Cellar nightclub and a larger casino.

Celebrity Cruises has scheduled a small number of visits to the Lelepa beach club. Celebrity Solstice is also confirmed for additional Australia seasons following the addition of new cabins, The Retreat, Sunset Park, restaurants and lounges.

Carnival, meanwhile, is building 20 exclusive cabanas on Moreton Island. Each will accommodate as many as eight guests and cost $400 for the day.

Princess Cruises will base Sapphire Princess in Perth from October 2027 through February 2028 for voyages along Australia’s west coast. The ship is also scheduled to visit Sydney and Brisbane, with Perth-Singapore sailings planned at both the beginning and end of the deployment.
